In recognition of its qualitative accomplishments and outstanding contributions to the business and banking sectors in Kuwait and the GCC countries, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) won the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award for the year 2022.
Being the only institution to be nominated from Kuwait by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and selected by the award Board of Trustees, is yet another achievement to KFH’s historic record.
SCCI held the annual ceremony to recognize institutions, companies, and entrepreneurs across all categories of the award at the Expo Centre in Sharjah.
During the ceremony, KFH Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, Abdulwahab Iesa Al Rushood received the award from His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and in the presence of the Chairman of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei and Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais. The ceremony was also attended by a number of officials, diplomats, representatives of government and private institutions, in addition to businessmen and media.
On this occasion, Al Rushood expressed his pride with this achievement, saying that it confirms KFH's leadership in achieving the highest standards of quality and excellence by providing innovative financial solutions, banking services and products that add value to the economy, enhance customer experience, support sustainable development efforts, as well as enhance KFH's leading position globally.
He added that this honor is also a new record that affirms KFH’s efficiency and highlights its contributions to promoting the Islamic banking sector around the world. With its high-quality products and services, KFH has also focused on several factors i.e., achieving sustainable growth, supporting human resources, enhancing financial inclusiveness and digital transformation, continuing the sustainability strategy, preserving the environment, applying governance, and implementing development and social responsibility programs.
Al Rushood commended SCCI’s efforts for organizing this prestigious award and its noble recognition for initiatives that focus on excellence within the corporate sector. He also praised Sharjah Excellence Award Board of Trustees for choosing KFH for this honor.
KFH was selected based on approved criteria, where more than 45 specialists contributed to the evaluation phase, whereas the judging committees consisted of 13 arbitrators from various fields. The 2022 award edition witnessed the participation of over 100 institutions in the business sector as well as men and women entrepreneurs.
It is worth mentioning that the Sharjah Excellence Award is an initiative of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry aimed at promoting institutional governance and encouraging the adoption of quality standards and work ethics.
The award also seeks to develop the responsibility of the private sector towards society, enhance their role in advancing sustainable development and environmentally friendly practices. In addition, it enhances the role of institutions in advancing sustainable development through providing facilities and launching new projects and initiatives and appreciating their achievements by motivating them to continue their success.
