Kuwait Finance House (KFH) concluded the biggest virtual walking challenge in Kuwait which was launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan in collaboration with its strategic partner, V-Thru application, and with the participation of over 10 thousand participants.
The competition, which was organized by KFH for the third consecutive year, was part of (Increase Good Deeds in Ramadan) program, and an extension to its (Better Health…Better Life) campaign. The initiative was also part of KFH’s social responsibility and keenness to encourage youth and sport activities to disseminate awareness of the importance of exercise, namely walking which has gained significant momentum in Ramadan.
In order to reach out to as many numbers of audiences, the competition was launched in two different locations: the Avenues Mall and Al Shaheed Park.
KFH organized the virtual walking challenge daily for the public before and after Iftar in collaboration with V-Thru application through V-FIT feature. The challenge allowed participants to earn a balance of KD 1/- for 1 Km that may be used in purchase transactions from 600 Young Kuwaiti businesses from the application, or for contributing to the plantation and greening of Kuwait through (Keep It Green) campaign to achieve a sustainable environment.
During the previous two editions of the walking challenge, participants contributed to planting over 1000 trees in Abdali Reserve, as KFH plants a tree on behalf of the participant when they pass the challenge.
Ever since the launch of this initiative, KFH has contributed to planting over 3000 trees and providing three years care, which is the average period required for the tree to be self-sufficient. Indeed, these contributions have a significant impact on the development and preservation of the environment and the raising of awareness on the importance of greening.
It is worth noting that the partnership with V-Thru is part of KFH’s social responsibility through which the Bank focuses on pioneering Kuwaiti youth experiences and supports SMEs and entrepreneurs, affirming KFH’s leadership in the field.
Meanwhile, V-Thru CEO, Abdullah AlShalabi, commended the collaboration with KFH, saying that the initiative encourages a healthy lifestyle, and is within V-Thru social responsibility, emphasizing that KFH is a key supporter at various levels through its clear strategy that keeps the community, people and values at its core.
He pointed out that V-Thru is continuously taking steps to establish a fully integrated application to cope with the modern lifestyles including the V-Fit function, food value calculator to encourage healthy life, Walk-Thru function to receive orders by walking and other continuous developments to make life easier for customers.
