Kuwait Finance House (KFH) announced its implementation of a new technology that aims to link all KFH systems and computers to install advanced applications through one central authority called thin client, where the application of this technology is considered to be a new accomplishment that is part of the IT Sector’s commitment to using the most advanced technology in the banking field, especially that KFH is one of the first local banks to use such technology.
The Infrastructure Services Department Manager at the IT Sector at KFH Haitham Al-Tarkeet stated that the new technology is based on one server for all networks and computers, which meets KFH’s expansion and business diversification requirements. he explained that the implementation of such technology allows the bank to take advantage of technology features that are not available in other systems, such as easily meeting any new application in the banking technology sector through one central authority.
Moreover, he said that the new technology also allows the reinforcement of security and data confidentiality that KFH follows in all its systems and programs, in addition to minimizing the exposure risk of the data used by employees. He went on to say that the new technology allows individuals who have authorization from outside KFH to use some programs according to their job requirements and specialties, such as suppliers. He noted that the new technology’s advantages include saving costs by minimizing the number of employees required for maintenance, and the expenses of management and maintenance. He mentioned that the new technology will be used at KFH’s sectors according to priority, starting with KFH commercial agencies, and then the Call Center, before using the system in the rest of the bank’s sectors.
Furthermore, Al-Tarkeet stressed that KFH’s local and global image as a leading banking institution in the technology field prompts KFH to be ready to meet the advanced technological applications in the business sector. He remarked that the IT Sector at KFH holds an annual meeting every October to set operational plans for the coming period.
