Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has won the “Top Innovations in Finance 2026 – Middle East” award at the 13th annual Global Finance Innovators Awards, underscoring its position as a leader in innovation and digital transformation. The award recognizes “Fahad”, the bank’s AI-powered virtual employee and the first of its kind in Kuwait.

This global award highlights KFH’s leadership in deploying advanced digital technologies to improve banking services and enhance the customer experience, in line with the bank’s vision to be a pioneer in smart banking both in Kuwait and across the wider region.

Award Criteria

This award recognizes financial institutions that are redefining the future of banking through innovative solutions. Winners stay ahead of technological change, improve the customer’s experience, and make their operations more efficient. Selections are made by the editors of Global Finance together with a panel of industry experts, who evaluate each entry on its innovation, real-world impact, use of advanced technology, and the concrete value it delivers to customers.

In its coverage of the 2026 Innovators edition, the magazine described “Fahad” as a major step forward in digital banking. Rather than a conventional chatbot, Fahad is a hyper-realistic AI video avatar that pairs artificial intelligence with interactive video, creating an experience that feels natural and human, much like talking to a real person.

The magazine highlighted that “Fahad” enables customers to receive instant support and guided assistance across digital channels. It’s a good example of “phygital” banking, which pairs the speed and efficiency of digital platforms with a personalized human interaction, making banking easier and more convenient for customers.

Global Finance also commended KFH for using speech analytics to turn phone calls into searchable text. This lets the bank gauge customer sentiment and understand their needs as conversations happen, so it can keep improving the quality of its service.

Meshal Alobaid: Fahad Marks a Major Milestone in Banking Innovation

KFH Deputy General Manager Digital and Alternative Channels, Meshal Alobaid said: “This global recognition reflects the success of KFH’s strategy of driving innovation and embracing advanced AI solutions. It also reinforces our leading role in shaping new digital banking models built around customers’ needs and their future aspirations.”

He noted that “Fahad” is more than a technical project. It’s a strategic move to reshape the banking experience, offering customers a digital employee who is available around the clock to provide support, guidance, and answers through self-service channels and ATMs, quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

According to Alobaid, the launch of Fahad at KFH’s branch in The Avenues is the result of years of investment in digital infrastructure and AI. It reinforces a smart ecosystem designed to keep the customer at the center of everything the bank develops.

He said the initiative is part of the bank’s broader vision for banking that is smarter and easier to use, with secure, modern services available to customers wherever and whenever they need them. Behind it, he added, is a connected digital ecosystem built on innovation, efficiency, and reliability.

The Growing Role of AI in Finance

Alobaid noted that fintech is booming across the region, fueled by heavy investment in AI and modern digital tools. He said KFH plans to keep investing in these technologies to sharpen its competitive edge and offer customers ever more advanced banking experience.

Editorial Director of Global Finance

Founder and Editorial Director of Global Finance, Joseph Giarraputo said that the financial sector is innovating faster than ever, fueled by breakthroughs in AI, cloud computing, and digital payments. In his view, these technologies help institutions run more efficiently, manage risk more effectively, and tailor their services to each customer’s needs.

Sustained Leadership in Digital Transformation

This latest award adds to KFH’s growing list of international honors for innovation and digital transformation. It highlights the bank’s ongoing success in translating strategic vision into practical, pioneering initiatives, most notably “Fahad”, which stands as an advanced benchmark for applying artificial intelligence in modern banking.
