Kuwait Finance House (KFH) participated in the third edition of Kuwait Hackathon, organized by CODED Academy in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).
The participation aligns with KFH’s social responsibility and its leading role in empowering youth, promoting innovation, and encouraging national talents specializing in modern digital technologies and individuals interested in software and cybersecurity.
Head of Public Relations and Media at KFH Group, Yousef Al-Ruwaieh affirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting this initiative, the largest national cybersecurity event in Kuwait, with the participation of over 300 Kuwaiti youth. The competition was launched on the sidelines of the NEXUS exhibition under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.
While receiving an honor on behalf of KFH, Al-Ruwaieh stated in a press release that fostering innovation and creativity among Kuwaiti youth is one of the key pillars of the Bank’s social responsibility and sustainability strategy.
He explained that such initiatives help strengthen national cybersecurity and contribute to building a digitally qualified generation capable of tackling future challenges.
“Digital literacy has become a necessity rather than a choice, which calls for investing in the community and youth and equipping them with the skills required in cybersecurity and advanced technology,” He noted. “Kuwait Hackathon and other digital initiatives are an important step towards preparing a generation of national talents capable of protecting the country’s digital infrastructure and qualified to lead technological transformation and support the digital economy in Kuwait.”
Al-Ruwaieh expressed KFH’s pride in its long-standing strategic partnership with CODED Academy, since 2018 which has resulted in the launch of many distinctive programs and initiatives that cover all age groups starting from children’s programs up to initiatives involving university students and graduates such as Kuwait Codes, Kuwait Hackathon and CODED Juniors. These initiatives have contributed to qualifying youth, supporting start-ups, and developing entrepreneurship and advanced technical skills in the community.
He further noted that KFH was the first entity to collaborate with CODED, highlighting the Bank’s strong track record of fruitful partnerships and initiatives that add value to society and reinforce KFH’s leading position as a role model in the private sector.

In his statement, CODED Academy CEO, Ahmad Marafi, commended the strategic partnership with KFH which led to strengthening the Academy’s capabilities and expanding its activities and scope of services to include a larger segment of Kuwaiti youth. He added that the partnership with KFH has contributed to increasing the number of qualified coding professionals, reflecting the Bank’s pioneering role in promoting innovation and empowering youth in technology fields as part of its social responsibility.
Marafi pointed out that Kuwait Hackathon is the largest national initiative in cybersecurity, organized to global standards, and represents a turning point in equipping a competitive digital generation in line with Kuwait’s vision for digital leadership.
Competition results
The competition witnessed strong participation in two categories: Professionals, and High School and University students. In the Professionals track, team (zero2RET) secured first place, followed by (P4YL04D.exe) in second and (5A) in third. Meanwhile, in the other category, team (Wave Blue) came first, (RootX) second, and (PowerxSec) third.
