What is the Wages Protection System (WPS)?

The Wages Protection System (WPS) is a platform established by the Central Bank of Kuwait to facilitate, monitor, and enhance the processing of salary and allowance payments.

The system is designed to:

• Support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Enhance the efficiency of salary and allowance payment processing.
• Facilitate salary and allowance payment reporting to the relevant government authorities.

Is Registration Mandatory or Optional?

Employers who have not completed the required registration will not be able to process employee salary and allowance payments through WPS.

We therefore recommend completing the registration as soon as the service becomes available to avoid any disruption to your salary and allowance payments.

How Will Salary Payments Be Processed?

Once your registration has been successfully completed, you will be able to process employee salary and allowance payments using the WPS Salary Payment service available through KFH Corporate Online Banking (eCorp).

When Will WPS Be Available?

Based on the current guidance, the implementation of WPS is expected to begin in 29 Sep 2026.

KFH will continue to keep you informed and will communicate the confirmed implementation date and registration availability once finalized.

Important

Once WPS is implemented, private-sector salary and allowance payments that are subject to WPS requirements must be processed through the Wages Protection System (WPS).

We strongly encourage you to complete the required registration promptly once the WPS Registration service becomes available.
