Tires

Cars technical recommendations and advices:

Tires:

Tires play an important role for the car’ safety. So we must take into consideration the tire’s pressure to achieve easy driving. Tires maintenance plays an important role to extend the period of usage. The best way to keep the tires in good condition is to buy pressure manual testing machine with reasonable price. Pressure testing must be done intervals periods as indicated in the schedule sticked on the car’s door or inside the gloves box.

Tires testing steps:

Use the bellows available in gas stations. The best Time to test air pressure is when the tires are cold (simple use) in the morning or after a long period of stoppage.

Remove the cover of the valve from the tire, insert the bellows mouth Into the valve and press well till air escape form the tire ceases. When air escape ceases, you will get accurate reading for air pressure. When bellows indicator refers to the highest reading, it must be equal to the number listed on the schedule on the car’s door or inside the gloves box.

If the reading is higher than what is stated in the table, use the opening of the backside of the bellows to empty the exceeding air from the same opening.

If the reading is less, use air inserting opening. Note that some equipment in gas stations require pulling the whole hose to start the bellows.

Repeat the same check process till you reach the recorded reading in the table . Don’t forget to re-fix the valve to prevent possible air escape.

Changing the punctured tires :

The process of changing the tire might be difficult for some people; but when you have the necessary equipments like the jack, wheels screw key and a spare tire; consider the job is done. Changing the puncture involves 4 steps:

First step:

  • If you felt during driving that the tire got puncture, slow down speed as a first stage, then light flashers, and try to park on a flat ground to the right side of the road. In all cases don’t park on the left side.
  • Put the gear on the parking position. If the gear is manual, put it on the first speed and pull the manual breaks.
  • Try to find some thing heavy and place it behind the back tire to avoid sliding When elevating the car by the jack in case the road was not Flat.
  • After completion of this process, bring out the spare Tire, jack and wheel’s screw key from the back box.

Second step:

  • Use screwdriver to pull out the tire covers.
  • Try to ease the nuts under the cover. If the signal on the nuts indicates “L” letter, unfasten should be clockwise. But If the signal is “R” or no signal at all, unfasten should be anti clockwise.

Notice: Don’t get under the car for any reason if it is elevated over the jack; it’s very dangerous.

Third step:

  • Place the jack on the ground, under car body next to the tire you want to replace.
  • Begin by elevating the jack till the jack opening gets under the car body; try to find the jack brink and go on elevating till the tire is elevated. If you see the car wasn’t in a state of balance, descend the car and fasten the jack to re-elevate.

Notice: Don’t get under the car for any reason if it is elevated over the jack; it’s very dangerous.

Fourth step:

  • When the car is up, unfix the tire screws and put it beside you to be reachable easily.
  • Pull out the punctured tire carefully, and be careful not to let it fall upon you.
  • Fix the spare tire in a process easily to fasten the screws.
  • Fix the tire screws reversible to the way of unfix; and don’t fasten too tight in this stage.
  • Begin to pull the jack down till the tire reaches the ground, fasten the tire screws tightly then descend the jack entirely.
  • Put the replaced tire, jack and tools at the car back box.
  • Don’t forget to remove all the items placed behind the tires.
  • Try to repair the punctured tire as soon as possible to avoid driving without spare tire.
