Lights:
Currently three kinds of lights are used in all cars:
- Normal radiated lamp.
- Halogen radiated lamp.
- Complex radiated lamp.
The most important maintenance works concerning lights is the replacing of lamps and the control of their beams as required. Because of the international laws governing cars electric systems, the electric system in all cars are very similar. There may be some slight differences between cars maintenance guides.
Replacing lamps:
After a period of time, the radiation-conducted wire may get burnt in any lamp, so the whole lamp must be changed. Usually the electricity is not accessed to the lamp because the electricity control supply system is associated with fuse burning. You have as well to keep eye on electricity control supply system to avoid lamp quick burning.
There is not big difference between the method of replacing normal lamp and Halogen one. But those two lamps is different from the complex radiated lamp (the third) type. Because of its composition , it’s necessary to locate the lamp correctly. A sign is written on the lens which indicates the “Top” to ensure the lamp right position.
1) Mounting a normal radiated lamp:
- Fix the cover openings over the operation place.
- Remove the brink which usually grips the lamp cap.
- Pull the circular holders, don’t touch the light control bar.
- Pull the lamp from its place.
- Remove the electric conductors connected to the lamp from behind.
- Check the iron part of the electricity conductor and remove rust.
- Fix the new lamp in a reversed direction to the direction of removal.
- Fix all the belts holding the lamp and adjust the screws.
- Adjust the beam direction as you wish.
Notice: Don’t use several types of lamps in the one car; you may lose light quality. Don’t replace halogen lamp with normal or complex one.
2) Mounting a complex radiated lamp:
- Pull the wires conducting electricity towards the lamp.
- Open the lamp holder.
- Pull the holder downwards.
- Push the lamp inside to avoid its breaking. Don’t pull the lamp in a circle way.
- Check all iron parts conducting the electricity for rust and clean it if necessary.
- Cover the conducting wire of the new lamp with special lubricant to avoid rust.
- Fix the new lamp in its place. The lamp base must be to the top. To insert the lamp you may need to move it in circle.
- The segment in the middle must meet the back of the lamp chamber.
- Mount the holder and close it tightly.
- Connect the wires.
- Adjust the beam by its screws.
Notice: Don’t touch the lamp lubricant, because it may affect the lamp usage and cause quick burning. You must avoid touching the lamp except from behind to avoid any defaults which may cause the lamp damage.
You must check car light direction and range of coverage every time you replace the lamps. Checking the direction is a must to obtain a clear vision and avoid risks during night driving. For instance, if the lights are not directed well, the driver may loose vision beyond 156 ft distance.
System of the back lights:
In the lamp triple system, the light of breaks is controlled through breaks pad to turn the lamp on in a parallel way. Most of breaks lamps use a double wire inner conductor which plays several roles.
If all the back lamps broke down, fuses must be checked. If the fuses are ok, the system must be checked by voltmeter. The process of changing back lamps is very easy since it doesn’t need light box
